Often, I get asked what make up products I use whether it's in real life or online, so I figured I'd list them all out here in one place to avoid repeating myself constantly in 2025! After spending over a decade in the modeling industry and having dozens of professional make up artists work on my face, I have picked up the key elements that work perfectly with my shade of medium brown skin. My products used are all pretty much water resistant ...and in the cases where the label itself doesn't say "waterproof" I have found them to work under water or in extremely tropical conditions with no issues. One of my goals for 2025 is to wear make up almost daily and this is more or less my routine and it takes about 20-25 minutes. Oh, and it's very budget friendly :)
Without further ado, here are the products I use on a freshly prepped face (cleanser + moisturizer) :
Color corrector: L.A. Girl Pro Conceal HD Concealer,0.28 Ounce (Orange Corrector)
Concealer: L.A. Girl HD Pro.Conceal, Almond GC979
Face powder: Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Pressed Face Powder Makeup & Setting Powder, Toffee
Eye brow pencil: Maybelline Express Brow Ultra Slim Eyebrow Makeup, Brow Pencil with Precision Tip and Spoolie for Defined Eyebrows, Deep Brown
Eyeshadow: Please don't judge me but I am using the Jaclyn Hill Palette well after it has expired and it's now discontinued...so I will be looking to replace this very soon. But I basically use bronze shimmer on the lower lid, a shade of plum on the middle section to add midtones, and a white/cream on the top to highlight my eyebrows.
Eyeliner solution: This is basically to soften your eyeliner and make it last longer when it hardens over time. One bottle lasts me a year. Inglot Duraline | Eyeliner sealant | Prolong Makeup Durability | Turn any Eyeshadow to Water Resistant Liquid Eyeliner | 9 ml/0.30 US FL OZ
Mascara: This is THE HOLY GRAIL for eyelashes. I stopped wearing fake lashes almost over a year ago, except for photoshoots and high value production projects. But on a daily, I find it too heavy. I naturally have long lashes, so I find that all I need is a really good mascara to take things to the next level. Here you go. L'Oreal Paris Voluminous Makeup Lash Paradise Mascara, Voluptuous Volume, Intense Length, Feathery Soft Full Lashes, No Flaking, No Smudging, No Clumping, Blackest Black, 0.25 Fl Oz
Lip Liner: Jordanna lip liner in the shade Merlot- I usually purchase this in Trinidad at Pennywise. Sorry I am writing this blog in a hotel lobby in LA before leaving for a bike ride on Venice beach...I don't have the time to find it and link it...I did try 3 times but I couldn't. Just google it. It's the HOLY GRAIL of lipliners.
Lipstick: I literally only wear two lipsticks (for the past 5 years)... they never disappoint! For my classic red lips- Pass the Money by Sacha. For my nude lips- I'm in the Nude by Sacha. These are liquid lipsticks made in Trinidad and they really tailor to the brown skinned women. They are durable, and even when wearing out they leave such a beautiful stain.
Setting Spray: Fix it spray
The application of these products also has a part to play. The way you stamp in your foundation. The brushes you use. But definitely experiment with this. This is my entire make up kit and it's ALL I use. It's also extremely budget friendly :) This is an investment in yourself and your appearance and I also do not have any commission to gain from your purchases because I couldn't be bothered to run it through my amazon store. This is just my gift to you, because I get asked this almost daily and I'd rather respond with a website link than type it all over each time! Enjoy!!! 😊 Gotta run now!
